Wimborne’s Museum of East Dorset is calling all creative minds—young and old—to take part in a fire-breathing art challenge that’s sure to spark imaginations and set tails wagging!
As part of the museum’s magical “How to Train Your Dragon – Wimborne Edition” programme, visitors are invited to design their very own dragon for a chance to win some truly legendary prizes. Whether fierce, funny, or fabulously glittery, every dragon creation is welcome.
The museum’s Dragon Design Studio will be open for drop-in crafting, colouring, and creating in a magical dragon-themed space. All materials are provided—just bring your imagination!
Studio Opening Times are Saturday 25th – Wednesday 29th October 12.30pm–2.30pm, Thursday 30th October:11.30am–1.30pm and Friday 31st October and Saturday 1st November 12.30pm–2.30pm
All ages welcome. Entry is free with a museum ticket and no booking is required.
All dragon designs will be entered into the Dragon Art Competition, with winners selected by none other than the Mayor of Wimborne. Prizes will be awarded for creativity, flair, and fire-breathing brilliance. Winners will be contacted by Friday 14th November.
The Museum of East Dorset is also running Story Time with Wimborne Library. As part of the half-term festivities, join Wimborne Library for enchanting Story Time sessions in the museum’s Garden Room. These run Monday 27th & Tuesday 28th October at 11am and 3pm. Perfect for little dragon tamers looking to curl up with a tale or two!
