Chezzie Hollow has been appointed as the Director of the Museum of East Dorset in Wimborne. Chezzie will play a significant role in shaping the future of this important town centre attraction.
Chezzie has a wealth of experience in the heritage sector. As Senior Collections & House Manager for six years at the National Trust at Tyntesfield in Somerset, she oversaw a major visitor growth programme and was responsible for 400 volunteers on-site as well as overseeing 800 volunteers across a portfolio of properties. She also has an extensive background in leadership and creative thinking, and brings great ideas, energy and expertise to her new role. She lives in Wimborne and is taking every opportunity to discover more about the town and the surrounding area.
Chezzie joins the Museum of East Dorset following the recent completion of a £1.8m Revival Project, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The successful refurbishment and refit of the Grade II* listed town house opposite the Minster Church, has secured the museum’s role as custodian of the heritage of East Dorset. The museum holds significant collections, some of national importance, including rare archaeological artefacts, a unique collection of Victorian Valentine cards, ceramics, and objects and photographic images related to the local history of the area. Hands-on and interactive elements within the exhibition spaces are supported by a varied programme of events. Visitors can also enjoy the Tea Room and beautiful heritage-planted walled garden, as well as the gift shop, second-hand bookshop and information centre.

From November to March, the museum and information centre will be open Monday to Saturday from 10am – 4pm, with last admission at 3.30pm, while the Tea Room is open daily from 10am – 4pm. Tickets can be booked in advance through the web site. An annual pass, starting at £13, includes entrance to 11 galleries and exhibitions, and access to the Tea Room and garden.
