From rich Dorset apple cake and indulgent brownies to freshly roasted coffee, hearty quiches, soups and sandwiches, local flavours will take centre stage at the Museum of East Dorset as it joins this year’s Wimborne Food Festival on Saturday 19th September.
Throughout the festival, visitors will be able to enjoy free samples and tasters in the Museum’s Garden Room, highlighting produce from a range of Dorset businesses. Suppliers featured include Wimborne Coffee Roasters, Sorrels of Wimborne, suppliers of soups and sandwiches, Oakley Butchers of Merley, whose quiches are served in the Tea Room, The Cake Cabin, makers of the Tea Room’s popular millionaire shortbread and brownies and Berrys of Ringwood, suppliers of many of its cakes, including the much-loved Dorset apple cake.
Visitors will have the opportunity to sample a selection of these local products while learning more about the businesses behind them. The tasting event reflects the Museum’s commitment to supporting local producers, reducing food miles and celebrating the best of Dorset food and drink.
The free tastings will take place in the Museum’s Garden Room as part of the Wimborne Food Festival festivities. Wimborne Food Festival is a free event and organised by Wimborne BID. Visit www.wimbornefoodfestival.com for more information or pick up a food festival programme around town.
