LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
The Minster
The Minster church of St Cuthburga has something to offer visitors of all ages. As well as the fine Norman architecture, there is the famous astronomical clock, the Quarterjack, a life-size soldier on the West Tower, and the unique Chained Library. There is also a gift shop. The site is widely accessible, with wheelchair access as well.
Wimborne Model Town & Gardens
Here at the model town, visitors can explore the many streets and lanes of this famous 1/10th scale model of the actual town centre, dating back to the 1950s. The hundreds of superbly crafted models, together with wonderful miniature shop window displays, provide a fascinating insight into the goods and services available to local folk some 60 years ago.
Walford Mill Crafts
Wimborne’s Walford Mill Crafts is set in a listed mill building on the banks of the River Allen and is one of Britain’s leading centres for contemporary craft. A visit to Walford Mill is perfect for those with a passion for crafts, heritage buildings and wildlife conservation. An all-weather venue, visitors can take the opportunity to relax, learn, browse and shop with friends and family in the calm atmosphere in the gallery and cafe.
