Legacies
Gifts and legacies
If you appreciate and support the work of the Museum of East Dorset, a legacy could be a most useful and effective way of ensuring we continue to flourish.
Some people prefer to make a gift in their Will rather than a lifetime gift. All gifts should be made to the Priest’s House Museum Trust, the registered name of the museum at the Charities Commission, registered charity number 1068540.
Our Director would be happy to talk to you about how your gift could benefit the future work of the Museum.
If you would like to leave 10% or more of your estate to the museum, then the rate of Inheritance Tax payable on the taxable element of your estate reduces from 40% to 36%.
Tax is a complicated issue. Although we are happy to discuss any gift you would like to make, we strongly advise that you speak to your tax adviser about potential tax implications.
