Help us keep the museum open for the benefit of the community.
The Museum of East Dorset is committed to preserving the heritage of the area and sharing the collections with our visitors through a range of exhibitions, school programmes, community events and lifelong learning opportunities. As a charity, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to ensure that we can survive. Your support, at any level, is hugely important.
The registered name of the museum at the Charities Commission is the Priest’s House Museum Trust, registered charity number 1068540.
Donations are always very welcome. We are currently working on a way of taking donations securely online in way which allows the museum to claim the tax paid on your donation, however large or small, through Gift Aid.
If you wish to give a donation in person or by post, in the short term, cheques should be made to the Priest’s House Museum Trust. Alternatively, please contact our Director.
How will we use your donation?
All donations will be used to further the charitable aims of the museum of East Dorset. They provide much needed support for conservation work, exhibitions, learning as well as the museum’s operating costs. This in turn will enable visitors, school pupils and the local community to engage with their heritage.
Here are some examples of how the museum might use donations from supporters:
£1 buys a bag to pack an object
£12 -15 is the price of an acid free box
£24 buys a roll of jiffy foam
£50 – £100 helps us produce an interpretation panel for our temporary exhibition gallery
£ 2,000 pays for a temporary exhibition
Each donation we receive is truly appreciated and makes a real difference to the work that we do.
