The Museum of East Dorset is inviting local school children to become a part of history and feature in our new exhibition: ‘East Dorset Celebrates: 70 years of Fun and Festivities’.
We’re asking all children from Reception to KS4 to create a portrait of themselves as their ‘best selves’. If you are a great gymnast, paint yourself as a gymnast. If you are an amazing artist, draw yourself as an artist. Underneath write, ‘I’m celebrating myself as a great gymnast’ or ‘I’m celebrating myself as an amazing artist’.
The portrait can be created through any medium on paper. For example, it could be painted, collaged, water coloured… just let your imaginations run wild! However, please use the downloadable frame provided below and keep within the lines. Fill out your details in the box provided and cut and stick it onto the back of your portrait. For more information, head over to our YouTube channel where artist Yvonne Perks has all the details. We will choose a winner from each age group (KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4) whose picture will be immortalised and put on display in our museum. The winner will also get a free entry ticket to come and view the new exhibition.
Please pop your entry in the post or drop them off at the Museum of East Dorset, 23-29 High Street, Wimborne Minster, Dorset BH21 1HR. We will be displaying the portraits as part of our new exhibition when it opens in April, so please send them into the museum by Monday 31st March.
