Artist In Residence: Yvonne Perks
As part of our ‘East Dorset Celebrates: 70 Years of Fun and Festivities’ exhibition, the Museum of East Dorset is very excited to introduce you all to our new ‘Artist in Residence’…
Yvonne Perks is a local artist who specialises in landscape and animal paintings through the medium of acrylic and watercolour paint. Among other things, she enjoys taking her inspiration from the wonderful New Forest, our beautiful southern coastline and anything she sees in nature.
Yvonne will be at the museum every Friday morning from 10-12.30 throughout June and July to help us ‘Celebrate Nature’. She will be using the garden and all it’s furry and feathery visitors to inspire her artwork.  It’s a great opportunity for any budding artists from toddlers to pensioners to ask her questions about her painting techniques, her experience and perhaps the best resources and equipment to use. You name it- she will try and find an answer!
You could even bring along your own sketchbooks, grab yourself a coffee and cake from our tearoom and join in the fun! Yvonne will be on hand to offer any help if you need it and our gardens are free to enter.
Yvonne will be starting on Friday 10th June. We hope to see you there too!
